In the world of temporary works, “quality” is a word that can so often lack real meaning. It’s easy to reduce it to checkboxes – compliance, achieving structural efficiency, meeting deadlines – that kind of thing. At Amrose Associates we believe it is something that should run much deeper.
Rather than thinking of quality as a minimum standard to work towards, our team sees it as something that is built into every stage of the design process. If you’ve worked with us, you’ll have picked up on it as confidence, clarity and care. This is all supplemented, of course, by our ISO 9001 accreditation and our robust systems.
It starts with understanding, not just data
Great temporary works design starts with understanding the task. We take time to consider:
- The preferred construction method
- Specific site constraints
- Practical risks
- Client and contractor preferences
Quality isn’t just about theory—it’s about practicality. Our engineers have deep experience gained on site which means their solutions work in practice as well as on screen.

A considered approach for complex and novel design
If the task is innovative, novel or complex we write a comprehensive design statement, which acts as a technical specification for the task. This means we can achieve our goal of doing it right first time.
The design statement facilitates a comprehensive independent checking process in accordance with BS5975.
Meticulous planning and clear communication
No matter how robust a design may be, its successful delivery lies in careful planning and clear communication. That’s why we:
- Engage in early and open dialogue with clients and stakeholders about design scope, timescales, and commercials.
- Prioritise easy-to-read, visual drawing outputs that speak clearly to the site teams.
- Communicate residual risks explicitly, ensuring all parties understand what needs to be managed when executing the design.
- Undertake site surveys and inspections (or utilise client supplied photos) to better understand the particular site constraints and plan with complete accuracy.

Meeting and exceeding expectations
We are proud of our ISO 9001 accreditation but most importantly, we live by the systems that underpin it. We ensure design reviews are held both within our internal design teams and with our clients so that the design output meets expectations and considers any evolution during the project’s development.

A rigorously checked output
Every project undergoes:
- A Category 2 check as standard
- A Category 3 check where required
- Final sign-off by a chartered engineer from our leadership team
This layered quality assurance ensures our designs are constructible, coordinated and safe.
Quality is confidence
We believe quality in temporary works should give every stakeholder confidence in the safety of the solution, the clarity of the drawings and the team delivering it. At Amrose Associates we engineer confidence into every project through our rigorous approach and robust systems. That’s more than just quality control.
